The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum is one of South Florida’s most iconic historic and cultural destinations, preserving over 8,000 years of history along the Loxahatchee River. Anchored by the striking red 1860 lighthouse—still an active aid to navigation—the site offers visitors a unique blend of heritage, education, and natural beauty.

Operated by the nonprofit Loxahatchee River Historical Society, the museum brings the region’s rich past to life through exhibits, guided tours, and community programs that explore Native American heritage, early pioneers, lighthouse keepers, and the area’s maritime legacy. 

Set within a rare 120-acre federally designated natural area, the lighthouse grounds also showcase Florida’s diverse ecosystems, offering scenic trails and waterfront views where history and nature intersect.
