The Florida Marine Science Educators Association (FMSEA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit
organization established in 1968 and devoted to improving the public's awareness of
aquatic ecosystems. Today, FMSEA serves nearly 500 members across the state including
K-12 teachers, informal educators, university professors, scientists, and more. To support
these ocean ambassadors, FMSEA offers professional development, scholarships, grants,
and awards, with a goal of increasing resources available to educators and the overall
accessibility of marine science. Through this, FMSEA empowers people of all ages and
backgrounds to explore, value, and protect our blue planet for generations to come.
