Oceana Coffee’s Moka Java: A Bold New Classic

Oceana Coffee’s Moka Java: A Bold New Classic

Some coffees carry history. Others spark innovation. Our Moka Java does both — and it just earned an outstanding 93-point rating from Coffee Review 🎉, placing it among the Coffee Reviews top blends.

🌍 Rooted in Tradition, Elevated by Oceana

Mocha Java has long been celebrated as the first coffee blend on record, pairing bright fruit notes from Yemen with deep, earthy tones from Indonesia. Our Head Roaster honored that foundation — then reimagined it.

Mocha or Moka?
If you’ve seen this blend spelled both ways, you’re not imagining things. “Mocha” comes from the Yemeni port of Al Mokha, one of the earliest coffee trade hubs. Over time, “Moka” became a common alternate spelling — and we chose it to give our blend a unique identity while staying true to its roots.

  • 🍇 Yemen Natural for vibrant, wine-like fruit

  • 🌋 Bali Blue for smooth, grounding richness

  • 🇨🇴 Colombian Pink Bourbon Co-Ferment for a whisper of sweetness and intrigue

Together, they create a cup that’s complex yet approachable, equally stunning as espresso, pour over, or French press.

"Blending coffee is like composing music — the right notes can create harmony that resonates beyond a single origin. Our Moka Java does exactly that, and I couldn’t be more proud that it’s been recognized as one of the best versions of the Moka Java blend."Scott Angelo, Co-Founder & Head Roaster, Oceana Coffee

✨ Why It Stands Out

This isn’t just a blend; it’s a journey in flavor. You’ll find bold fruit layered over rich, chocolatey depth 🍫, with a finish that lingers and surprises. It’s the kind of coffee that feels timeless but tastes like nothing you’ve had before.

“The Oceana Coffee Moka Java (93) only lightly tiptoes into the anaerobic camp by adding what tastes like a very fine anaerobic-processed Colombia to a more conventional combination of a wet-hulled, Sumatra-like coffee from Bali (the famous island just to the east of Java) and a genuine Yemen natural-processed bean. The result of this three-bean blend is a coffee that is my personal favorite from the cupping. I am drinking it now and enjoying its intricate aromatics and fusion of pungent power and sweet juiciness.” - Kenneth Davids Coffee Review
