B-I-Y™ | Brew it yourself | Coffee Cocktails-Coffee & Rum Tonic

This is a very easy and refreshing cocktail. We took this cocktail live on Facebook and Instagram back in July 2020 during the pandemic. You can watch our very own Scotty Angelo, our B-I-Y™ guy make it here.
This recipe will make a 2 cocktails to share. You can buy your favorite cold brew at Oceana Coffee or make your own at home. You can also use espresso in place of cold brew. We used our decaf coffee beans to make a couple of espresso shots for a non-caffeinated version of this cocktail. We used some coffee rum from La Colombe, dreamed up by Todd Carmichael one of their founders. Unfortunately this rum is no longer produced but any delicious dark rum will do. We love this delicious rum made by our frineds at the St. Augustine Distillery. If you ever get the chance to visit, don’t miss this amazing place. They offer tours daily and tastings as well.
To make this drink, combine the coffee concentrate, rum, agave, lime juice, and bitters in a cocktail shaker. Shake it up and pour over ice about half-way up the glass. Fill to the top with tonic water (our favorite is Fever Tree), garnish with a lime wheel. Take pics and post on Instagram tagging Oceana Coffee, we would love to see your beautiful results!
- 7 oz. cold-brew coffee concentrate
- 6 oz. dark rum
- 4 oz. agave syrup
- 2 oz. fresh lime juice
- 1/4 tsp. Angostura bitters
- Tonic water
- Lime wheels
